![]() Anything larger goes unused (8-bit hardware was able to get around limitations like that with the use of procedures like bank switching, but this is fairly uncommon on modern hardware-it's possible for a 32-bit system to have access to more than 4GiB of physical memory, but you cannot address more than 4GiB of virtual memory. Since it's 32-bit, that means there are only 4294967296 possible values that a register can represent, and therefore, 4294967296 possible RAM offsets that the CPU can address. I suggest making your 32-bit partition tiny and giving all the free space to the 64-bit one because who in their right mind uses a 32-bit system in 2021? Here's another advantage 64-bit systems offer over 32-bit: 32-bit systems can't use more than ~4GiB of RAM, because 2^32 = 4294967296 (4.2 billion). ![]() You can literally, right now, grab a 64-bit copy of Windows, make a partition on your hard disk, and install said copy on the separate partition for a dual boot solution. Have you even checked? This is something you wouldn't even need to pay money to fix. And if your hardware is capable of running a modern copy of Windows, then your hardware probably *is* 64-bit. The fact that you are (or were) able to run the game at an acceptable speed with your hardware tells me that your hardware is powerful enough to run Windows 10. Here's the thing, Devil Daggers is quite a resource intensive game, despite its minimalist, PS1-inspired aesthetic. Please do the responsible thing and upgrade to a 64-bit OS. But in this case, keeping said promise would be detrimental, and it is you who is part of the problem. Under other circumstances, I would be on your side, that a product should continue to keep the promise it made at the point of sale. So you see, by continuing to use a 32-bit computer over 15 years after the market switched to 64-bit architectures, and less than 20 years before the problem x86_64 was created to solve is due to happen, you are very far behind the times. This is unacceptable, and it would also be a poor solution to move the unix epoch forward every 68 years, thus, we have 64-bit computers, which can represent numbers up to 9 quintillion, which when counted in seconds is round about 585 billion years, or 292 million years if you count milliseconds instead. Ever hear of the Year 2038 problem? 2^31-1 seconds is a bit over 68 years, which means that computers will experience integer overflow in 2038, thinking that the time is "-2147483648 seconds after January 1 1970", or some time in 1901, which will ♥♥♥♥ up a lot of programs that use DRM or otherwise require clocks to be synced and validated. x86_64 had the overwhelming majority market share by 2006, and for good reason. You really should just get a 64-bit computer. ![]() I am right, and this is basically changing the terms and requirements after the fact. Absolutely nothing of importance changed with this title, and to do this years and years later, when nearly NOBODY is playing it but hard core fans.Īt any rate, troll me, whatever. I can no longer play it on the computer I bought it for a long while ago. Or you can go ahead and have STEAM refund this game. Hopefully someone will chime in here, otherwise, I guess I am going to try and get refund. It's graphics are voxel/blocky/8bit and not very complex, to say the least. The POINT is that this dink game doesn't even REQUIRE 64 bit OS. I guess when they change the video card requirements 12 patches later that makes YOUR GAME not work any more, you will get the point. You punks don't matter, and you miss the point. I realize a lot of trolls will yell at me for "Still using 32 bit OS". Then you come in and modify it years later, changing the requirements for the game? I've since played it many hours, so REFUND is not possible.
